This antique red lacquer table has a flush panel top. The curving edge has a small bead on the bottom which sits above a narrow flat recessed waist. The straight apron below the waist has a small taper on the bottom edge that end in a small bead. This detail carries down the inside edges of the legs and is also duplicated on the top and bottom edge of the narrow stretchers. Between the aprons and the stretchers are intricately pierced carved decorative struts, the have a continuous row of carved Wan, or good luck symbols with carved flowers between each one.
Under the stretchers are pierced carved spandrels with carvings of dragons.
The legs have beautiful block carved feet with unusual carvings on the outside edge above the feet. There have been repairs done on the rear feet at some point. The front side of the table has a small drawer whose front matches the recessed waist and apron so it blends in inconspicuously with the table.
This pieces is finished in a red lacquer, and is shown in one of the photos with a pair of red lacquer high back arm chairs, SKU # RV-31812-PR. The chairs are not included.
