This charming Asian cabinet has a flush panel top with a nice curved edge detail. The 4 square legs form the corners of the cabinet. There are 2 flat panel doors that have external wood pivots. The top of the pivots go into the underside of the overhanging top, while the bottom goes into wood receivers that project out from the lower frame.
The sides and back of the cabinet are flat recessed panels.
The top, front and sides of the cabinet are finished in a red lacquer and the back is finished in a wood tone.
The front frame and the doors have gilded designs. The doors have various objects including a vase and a plant on a stand, with a rectangular outline framing the panel of each door. The frame has more decorative designs that include flowers.
As is typical, there are some shrinkage cracks on the doors and in the back an side panels. There is also some cracking to one of the legs.
Because of the compact size, this cabinet has many uses, including using it as a jewelry cabinet or for book or magazine storage.
