Antique Asian Doors and Decorative Wall Screens

In this category we have mostly decorative architectural elements, including antique Chinese doors, antique Chinese window screens, as well are unusual wood folding screens. Also, if we have stock, we would include antique Chinese floor screens.

Most of the antique Chinese doors are sold in sets. These doors would typically have been used as courtyard doors that had large wood pivots on the top and bottom. During restoration these pivots are typically removed, but sometimes you can see the remnants of them. These doors can be used as room dividers or wall treatments. They are especially suited to make very unusual headboards using 3 or 4 of them side by side.

These antique Chinese window screens are now mostly used as wall decorations, just like a piece of artwork. When you see the craftsmanship that goes into making these screens, they are in fact a piece of art. Like the doors, on many of these screens you can see where the original wood pivots projected from the frame.
